Making his first appearance at the Bromo Marathon 2025, Gus Shobih as the Vice Regent of Pasuruan is usually called, gave a thumbs up to the strong synergy of collaboration that was well established. Both the organizers, the banking institutions, and the community all played a major role. It is therefore no surprise that this international-scale running competition was once again successfully held this year.

According to him, the Pasuruan Regency Government feels greatly supported by this sporting event, which has now been held for the 12th time. He also hopes that similar activities in the years to come will bring greater economic value, especially for the people of Tosari District.

"In the future, we hope that the Bromo Marathon will provide a multiplier effect for the people of Pasuruan Regency. Not only helping to promote the tourism potential of Bromo and its surroundings, but also introducing the flagship products of MSMEs/IKM and other regional potentials," he said enthusiastically.

Therefore, Vice Regent Gus Shobih encouraged Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the Pasuruan Regency Government to be more active in enlivening the event. This includes the Tourism Office, the Cooperatives Office, the Industry and Trade Office, as well as other related agencies.

"To all the participants whom I highly respect, good morning and stay healthy. On this fine morning, on behalf of the Government of Pasuruan Regency, I would like to express my gratitude. Especially to the organizers, the ranks of Bank Indonesia, and Bank Jatim. We are also thankful to all runners of the Bromo Marathon 2025. Hopefully, the tourism destinations in Pasuruan Regency will become even better known, both within our own country and abroad," he stated.

Meanwhile, CEO & Founder of Plataran Indonesia, Yozua Makes, expressed his commitment to continue cross-sector partnerships in a sustainable manner. The ultimate goal is to create mutual symbiosis for many parties.

"For us, the Bromo Marathon is a collaboration between the Regional Government, Regional Banks, and the private sector. We are determined not only to ensure that it is held regularly every year, but also to raise the level of the Bromo Marathon continuously as an international-scale running competition," he said.

The International Bromo Marathon was once again held in Tosari District. This year, it was joined by 2,234 registered runners from 21 countries, including Australia, Belgium, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, and India.

The race took place on Sunday (September 7, 2025), with all participants starting from the Plataran Bromo area, Ngadiwono Village, Tosari District.

Based on observations by the Public Relations Team of the Protocol and Leadership Communication Division, Regional Secretariat of Pasuruan Regency, both participants and dozens of media crews filled the event location from as early as 5 AM. The atmosphere became even more lively and festive with traditional arts performances by the Tengger community, such as the Bale Ganjur dance and Bantengan art, which accompanied the event throughout. In addition, the traditional Tengger Baleganjur performance was also featured as a promotion of local arts.

The excitement grew further with a wide range of MSME products neatly displayed at the venue. These included various craft products such as leather bags and traditional Tengger batik. Not to mention a wide selection of delicious foods and drinks. Their presence at the booths provided by Bank Jatim perfectly complemented the festive atmosphere of the event.

One of the participants was Roqik, a leather craftsman from Bangil District, who showcased his top products. Various leather-based items such as bags, wallets, jackets, belts, vests, and Bromo Marathon souvenirs were displayed alongside other IKM/MSME products from Pasuruan Regency. These ranged from food and beverages such as tempe chips, banana chips, and rambak (crispy crackers), presented by the Women Entrepreneur Community (KOMPPAK).

"Maturnuwun, yesterday my friends and I from the MSME/IKM community were invited by Bank Jatim to hold a bazaar at the Bromo Marathon. We hope that in the future we can be involved again, perhaps coordinated collectively by the relevant OPD, such as the Industry and Trade Office or the Cooperatives Office," he said hopefully.

In this year's international running competition, five categories were contested: the Full Marathon (42 km), Bromo Half Marathon (21 km), 10 km Course, 5 km Course, and the Kids Category (2.5 km).

The exotic green mountain panorama stretching along the route became a unique selling point and distinction from other running events. The winding roads at every turn and the varying elevation of the terrain, ranging from 1,950 to 2,750 meters above sea level, gave the International Bromo Marathon its own challenges and sensations. Not to mention the breathtaking beauty of Bukit Premium, which was also part of the beautiful route passed by the runners.
