Pasuruan’s Travel Agent Coordination Forum Highlights the Push for an Official Association and Tourism Mapping

Pasuruan, A very important meeting, the Greater Pasuruan Travel Agent Coordination Forum, was held on November 25, 2025. This event successfully brought together local travel agents and the Tourism Office (Dinas Pariwisata). The goal of this gathering was to create a strong partnership that will help change Pasuruan, making it a place where tourists want to stop and stay, not just pass through.

The biggest result of the meeting is the strong effort to start an official Travel Agent Association, similar to ASITA. Mrs. Ari Head of tourism marketing division Dispar clearly stated that travel agents are the most important partners needed to improve tourism. Establishing this official group will help achieve two main goals: first, creating clear and attractive travel products, and second, encouraging agents to join, which will directly increase the local government's income. Adding to this professionalism, the HPI Guide Association promised that all its guides will be fully certified, making sure visitors receive high-quality service.

This partnership is already making a difference in how businesses support tourism. Mr. Soni from Saygon Park Group offered his renovated resort as a good alternative for study tours and promised special, dedicated prices to agents. This commitment helps agents stay in business. The Tourism Office also committed to giving agents new tools for promotion. They confirmed the launch of the Ontrip app, which lists all local travel agents, and the creation of an official 2025 Event Calendar. These tools help agents plan and promote tours more effectively.

The discussions focused on creating solutions for existing problems through teamwork. For example, agents brought up safety concerns on the Pasuruan-Bromo route and past issues with product quality. In response, Dispar pledged to coordinate with authorities to immediately improve Bromo route safety and start running regular guiding training for local agents. Furthermore, the need for better planning was highlighted, leading to an agreement on future joint efforts to improve infrastructure at places like Kedung Boto and Banyu Biru. Stakeholders agreed to promote historical areas like Tretes and use Candra Wilwatikta for regular cultural performances. All these commitments show that continued coordination between the agents and the Tourism Office is the key step to making Pasuruan a successful and memorable destination.

Ultimately, this synergy between the local government, travel agents, and destination managers is the foundation upon which Pasuruan's tourism future rests. Mrs Ari Head of tourism marketing division Dispar also strongly hoped that this strengthened collaboration will successfully advance travel agents, tourism office and tourism industry sector and lead to a significant increase in both domestic and foreign tourist visits to Pasuruan Regency.
