Bangil came alive with color, culture, and creativity as the first-ever Bangil Carnival 2025 rolled out on Sunday (September 21, 2025). Part of the 1,096th anniversary celebrations of Pasuruan Regency, the carnival drew more than 3,000 participants and over 100 decorated vehicles, representing 39 contingents from districts, urban villages, and rural communities.

The parade began at Bangkodir Bangil and concluded at Bangil Town Square, with enthusiastic crowds lining the one-kilometer route from early morning. Vice Regent Shobih Asrori officially released the procession, while Regent Rusdi Sutejo greeted the participants and audiences at the main stage. To ensure smooth performances, barricades were set up along the streets, giving space for each contingent to showcase its theme.

Every participant brought something unique, from historical re-enactments to artistic displays. A standout performance came from Raci Village with its giant crab statue, symbolizing the rich maritime culture of local fishermen. Meanwhile, Prigen District portrayed the legacy of the Singosari Kingdom, blending theater with heritage. These diverse themes made the carnival both entertaining and educational.

Beyond the cultural celebration, the carnival had a strong economic impact. Food vendors, drink sellers, and souvenir stalls enjoyed booming business as visitors flocked to the town. Traffic was rerouted through the Gempol-Pasuruan toll road to accommodate the flood of spectators, yet the festive mood remained undisturbed.

The highlight of the day was the announcement of the winners, recognizing the most outstanding performances:

  • 1st Place: Pandaan District
  • 2nd Place: Lumbang District
  • 3rd Place: Tosari District
  • Hope Award 1: Raci Village
  • Hope Award 2: Kejayan District
  • Hope Award 3: Kalianyar Urban Village
  • Best Costume: Rembang District
  • Most Creative & Innovative Idea: Kiduldalem Urban Village
  • Favorite Performance: Nguling District

Regent Rusdi expressed gratitude to the organizers and participants, while acknowledging that improvements would be made for future editions. "This is only the beginning. Next year, we will make the Bangil Carnival even better," he said.

With its successful debut, Bangil Carnival 2025 has cemented itself as a new cultural tradition, blending heritage, art, and community spirit into a celebration that is set to shine brighter every year.
